Project Engineer

Job Description


We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer to join our clients dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer-aided design (CAD), particularly in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD, with experience in injection molding or automation.

Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Create solid models, assemblies, and detailed drawings as required for various projects
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to develop technical drawings and specifications
  • Assist in the preparation of project quotes, including cost estimates and materials
  • Contribute to the design of fixtures and assembly equipment for in-house use
  • Obtain quotes for purchased components and assemblies as needed
  • Utilize our ERP system (IQMS) for project management and documentation
  • Adhere to the procedures outlined in the company's quality management system
  • Support the development and improvement of engineering processes and standards

Skills/Competencies:
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD;familiarity with ProE Creo is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of plastic part design principles and injection molding processes
  • Understanding of mold design concepts is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Qualifications/Experience/Education:
  • Minimum of a 2-year associate degree or Certification in CAD and/or Mechanical Engineering
  • Previous experience in a similar role, particularly in injection molding or automation, is highly desired
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Experience with ERP systems, specifically IQMS, is an advantage
