Role Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing and improving daily manufacturing operations to ensure products are produced efficiently, on schedule, and in alignment with quality standards. This position leads production teams, partners across departments, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance, safety, and overall operational effectiveness.

This role serves as a key support partner to plant leadership by helping implement strategic initiatives, improving processes, and fostering a culture focused on operational excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production Management: Direct daily production activities to ensure output goals are met and products meet required specifications

  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop production staff through training, scheduling, and performance management while reinforcing accountability and expectations

  • Quality Assurance: Maintain and enforce quality standards to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements

  • Process Improvement: Evaluate and enhance workflows to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs;implement standardized procedures and documentation

  • Lean Initiatives: Promote and support Lean manufacturing practices, including 5S and other continuous improvement efforts

  • Safety Oversight: Ensure adherence to all safety protocols;conduct routine audits and address any concerns promptly

  • Inventory & Materials Coordination: Partner with supply chain to ensure proper material flow and inventory accuracy, avoiding shortages or excess

  • Performance Tracking: Monitor key performance indicators (safety, quality, delivery, cost, morale) and implement corrective actions as needed

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, quality, and logistics teams to maintain smooth operations and meet customer demands

  • Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve production challenges to minimize downtime and disruptions

  • Communication: Proactively communicate updates, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders in a timely manner

  • Equipment Handling: Operate material handling equipment as needed to support production flow

Qualifications & Experience

  • Associate s degree or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production leadership environment, including at least 2 years in a managerial role

  • Strong understanding of Lean principles, quality systems, and safety regulations

  • Experience tracking and analyzing production metrics and KPIs

  • Familiarity with forklift operation (various types) preferred

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and production management systems

  • Certifications such as Lean or Six Sigma are a plus

  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying conditions and exposure to equipment

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Primarily based in a manufacturing setting with varying temperatures and noise levels

  • Regular standing and movement throughout the facility

  • Occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs, with assistance for heavier items)

  • Interaction with machinery, forklifts, and other production equipment

  • Standard safety protocols and PPE required at all times
