We are currently seeking a skilled Lead Person to oversee manufacturing activities and contribute to our legacy of success.
Job Role and Responsibilities:
The Lead Person will oversee the activities of all team members involved in the manufacturing of products and equipment on the shift. Each shift consists of up to 5 Machine Operators, Packers, Material Handlers, and Sweepers.
  • Supervise and coordinate all manufacturing activities to meet or exceed product output standards while ensuring quality and minimizing damage.
  • Collaborate with the Production/Quality departments to ensure process controls and final product quality are strictly followed.
  • Prepare daily shift reports detailing materials produced, manning statistics, and ensure accuracy of required reports.
  • Train new plant employees on job duties, plant rules, and cross-train co-workers for backup positions.
  • Make recommendations for procedure and equipment modifications to improve facility productivity.
  • Address immediate personnel issues, provide first aid as needed, and demonstrate strong leadership skills.
Key Duties and Requirements:
  • Education: Minimum 4 years of Food Plant experience, familiarity with Hazardous Materials used in a Food Plant, and ability to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • Related Work Experience: Prefer individuals with AIB/ASI/SQF or other professional GMP/Sanitation training. Minimum of 4-7 years in a Food Plant, recent Lead person experience with crews of up to 10 co-workers.
  • Technical Skills: Basic mechanical aptitude, ability to read work instructions and schedules, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Principal Accountabilities:
  • Oversees the manufacture and packaging of finished goods to meet productivity standards, preventing costly negative variance.
  • Utilizes assigned manpower effectively, meeting company manning standards and reducing overtime costs.
  • Ensures proper maintenance of production equipment to prevent downtime and excessive damage.
  • Maintains accurate production records, submits required reports, and upholds quality housekeeping and safety standards.
