Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Maintenance Manager with a strong background in the food industry. The ideal candidate will lead the maintenance team, ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of all production and support equipment within the facility. This role will oversee the implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance programs, support safety initiatives, and manage capital projects. A focus on food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Leadership:- Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians and engineers in daily operations.
- Ensure all machinery, equipment, and systems function optimally, with minimal downtime.
- Develop, implement, and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Coordinate and execute emergency repairs in a timely manner.
Food Safety & Compliance:- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with food safety regulations such as HACCP, FDA, and USDA guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to maintain proper sanitation and safety protocols.
- Maintain a working knowledge of industry trends and regulatory changes.
Equipment & System Management:- Oversee the maintenance of production lines, packaging equipment, refrigeration systems, HVAC, boilers, and wastewater systems.
- Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring critical components are available when needed.
- Evaluate and recommend upgrades or replacements to improve operational efficiency.
Budgeting & Cost Control:- Develop and manage the maintenance department s budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives related to energy consumption, downtime reduction, and maintenance efficiency.
Safety & Training:- Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Provide ongoing training to maintenance staff, emphasizing safety, food safety protocols, and new technologies.
Capital Projects:- Manage capital projects, including new equipment installations, facility upgrades, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, quality) to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred;equivalent experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in a maintenance management role within the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (HACCP, FDA, USDA, etc.).
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Proven experience with equipment such as conveyors, packaging machinery, refrigeration systems, and automated systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and projects effectively.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
- Experience with capital project management.
- Familiarity with energy management and sustainability initiatives.
- Must be able to work in a food processing environment, which may include exposure to varying temperatures and humidity.
- Occasional weekend or off-shift work may be required.
