Job Description
Electro-Mechanical Technician (EMT) The Electro-Mechanical Technician (EMT) is a key member of the plant maintenance team and is responsible for supporting factory operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment in a high-speed manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems
Troubleshoot and repair production equipment to minimize downtime
Conduct equipment calibrations and machine adjustments to support operational requirements
Safely perform all work following established safety practices, including LOTO, PPE, risk assessments, and work permits
Utilize electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, manuals, and OEM resources to diagnose and resolve equipment issues
Properly use tools, test instruments, and diagnostic equipment
Identify, source, and replace required parts using bills of materials, parts lists, and technical documentation
Maintain and troubleshoot electrical devices and systems, including but not limited to:
Switchgear and power distribution systems
MCCs, safety circuits, disconnects, fuses, and circuit breakers
PLC-based automation systems (Allen-Bradley and Siemens)
Motors, motor starters, relays, and VFDs
Sensors and instrumentation such as photo eyes, proximity switches, cameras, temperature probes, level sensors, flow meters, and control valves
Support continuous improvement initiatives through participation in the Operational Excellence system
Document maintenance activities, repairs, and future work requirements using the SAP Plant Maintenance (CMMS) system
Perform additional duties as assigned
Complete all work in a professional and workmanlike manner
Qualifications & Experience
Associate s degree, technical certificate, or equivalent experience in Electrical Maintenance or Industrial Automation
Minimum of:
3 years of experience as an Electro-Mechanical Technician OR
2-year technical degree plus 1 year of EMT experience
Proven experience troubleshooting, repairing, replacing components, adjusting machinery, and modifying equipment to meet operational specifications
Experience working in a high-speed manufacturing environment preferred
Advanced understanding of industrial electricity, including motors and motor controls
Advanced knowledge of PLC-based automation systems (Allen-Bradley and Siemens)
Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Working knowledge of pipefitting and rigging
Familiarity with LOTO and Arc Flash safety regulations
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Effective communication skills
Comfortable working with computers for documentation, system navigation, and information retrieval
Ability to use basic math skills for maintenance, calibration, and repair tasks
Ability to work overtime as required
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
