Job Description
CNC MachinistPurpose of Job Provide production support for machining operations by producing and testing parts using skilled machining processes and complex machine tools. Major Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC machines, including horizontal and vertical mills and lathes, across a wide range of production operations
Select appropriate feeds and speeds;set up jobs according to engineering prints and setup procedures;install and adjust fixtures as needed
Read and interpret complex blueprints and drawings;create sketches when needed and make recommendations for print corrections
Ensure accuracy of inventory transactions and complete all required job documentation
Determine tooling and fixturing availability and identify suitable substitutes when necessary
Complete process documentation and data sheets accurately and on time
Perform in-process inspections to ensure quality standards are met
Ensure all products meet or exceed customer quality expectations
Collaborate closely with multiple departments to support timely production and product completion
Communicate effectively across teams to ensure information is shared quickly and accurately
Support other departments as needed based on production requirements
Maintain a strong commitment to safety at all times
Desired Skills, Competencies, and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
3 5 years of machining experience, including CNC machining center setup and operation
Experienced manual machinist
Ability to set up, troubleshoot, and maintain CNC equipment
Basic knowledge of G-code and M-code
Proficient in use of measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers with tight tolerances
Understanding of dimensional tolerances and inspection standards
Basic ERP system knowledge
Ability to read and interpret quality specifications
Strong planning, prioritization, and attention to detail skills
Self-starter with the ability to work independently
Proficient with basic computer systems
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization
